play cards online is at the Microsoft Internet
Gaming Zone. It's fast and free. Classics such as Hearts, Spades,
Bridge are available and there are more than 200,000 opponents! If you
own Sierra CD Roms you can play blackjack, poker and a few other games
on Sierra which has a reasonably fast

- C&C RED
ALERT - You’re the general in this war game. Play at Westworld
for free against one other person. Pay to play at Mplayer
against as many as 6 other people, or at Ten

- INTERSTATE
76 - A Relatively new game so there aren’t yet as many sites.
Activision currently
is hosting a site. You pick from one of 25 type of autos, then arm
yourself with flamethrowers, missiles, etc. and scream through the
desert blasting opponents. You will need Activision’s CD Rom.
- DUKE NUKEM
3D - A old favorite with online game players. Similar to Quake
but with a lot more humor. You can play DUKE on TEN
but it is NOT free. You can also play for very little at Kali
or Kahn. Requires DUKE CD
ROM from Apogee/3D Realm. You can get help at Enders.
- REDNECK RAMPAGE
Blast those aliens posing as good ol’ boys! You have to go online
with Engage to play. Requires
REDNECK RAMPAGE CD Rom or download from Engage. A Rough and tumble
sort of game. You can get help at Sign-comsys.
- Air Warrior
- The oldest and most popular online flight game can be downloaded
from many sites including Kesmai.
Price to play typically runs $1-2 per hour or $5 per month for 4 free
hours. Features plenty of WWI, WWII and Korean War fighter planes
and bombers.
- Warbirds
- A VERY difficult game. The combat is ruthless. Be sure to read the
instructions. Price runs $10 per month for 5 hours plus around $2
per additional hour. Play at Icigames.

are scads of word games, of course, but the queen is still scrabble. Mplayer
has a free area for online play if you have the Hasbro CD ROM. If you're
a good player you might want to check out NetScrabble.
