Our Progression into History

1769-1878: First Mission and Royal Presidio founded under Spanish rule. 1821-1837: Plaza and first houses established a village under Mexican government. 1840-45: Trade Cowhide and Tallow based economy was exercised. 1846-5 1: Transition from Mexican govemment to U.S. acquisition. Military occupation. Delineation of US/Mexican border. 1868-1872: Expansion to Alonzo Horton's "New Town". Transference of county records away from Old Town to New Town.

We offer tours especially created for third and fourth grade children and also Middle/Senior school classes. These tours do not duplicate each other. Specific emphasis is on the curriculum of your grade level. Economically priced.
