This is suspense writing at its very best. Lots of fast action and page scrolling danger Jimmy Oliver is a con man, who seduces, marries, insures and murders his wives. Two of the wives who escaped his wrath and with the help of a friend (a woman who is a national shooting champion) are about to get even. I really enjoyed the flow of this story. Everything is touch and go from the very beginning and the reader is hauled along breathlessly for the ride. There are real world issues in this book as well. Domestic violence and the strength and courage to overcome physical abuse are an important part of Ms. La Pierre's story telling. The climax of this novel is one of the fastest moving and action motivated moments I have ever read. I highly recommend that you read The Deadly Thorn. Bio: BETTY SULLIVAN LA PIERRE Born and raised in Oklahoma, I attended Oklahoma College for Women and the University of Oklahoma, graduating with my BS degree in Speech Therapy.

My husband and I came to California in 1960. In 1967 he was killed in an automobile accident, leaving me with two young boys to face the world alone. Three years later I married Don La Pierre, a Satellite Controller and we also had a son. Together we raised three wonderful guys who are college graduates, plus enthusiastic hunters and fishermen.

I've lived in the Silicon Valley (Sunnyvale, California) for over thirty years. I once owned a Mail Order Used Book business dealing mainly in signed and rare books but phased it out over the last few years because it took up too much of my writing time. I am an avid reader, belong to the WWS, (Wednesday Writers' Society) and periodically attend functions of other writing organizations.

I write Mystery /Suspense/Thriller novels.
