bn71: Ceremonial Textile (Dadong). Hand spun cotton with pilih motifs and synthetic dyes. L: 82" (208 cm), W: 25" (63 cm). Early to mid 20th century. Iban Dayak, Sarawak State, Borneo Island, Malaysia.

Very good pilih work. Good color saturation with three separate red dye batches. Some light stains. "Dadong" were longer pieces used as shoulder clothes or head coverings and often worn by Shamans during healing rituals.
